Boxing Cat Brewery has been propelling the craft beer market in China forward since April 2008. Our mission is to create a world class craft beer identity for China using innovative, quality driven new world approaches to ensure every glass is as delicious as it can be! Innovation is in our blood, and over the years, we introduced to the Chinese consumers the nation’s first barrel ageing program, which in turn produced the country’s first ever farmhouse sour beer, bourbon barrel aged beers, and cognac barrel aged beers. Furthermore, we also created the first craft nitro brews, as well as the first domestic and international collaboration brews with great brands such as Mikkeller of Denmark & Great Leap Brewing in Beijing to name a few. We make beer that we’re extremely proud about and love to drink ourselves, and more importantly, we work 24/7 to ensure that passion can be fostered amongst the growing legions of craft beer enthusiasts we have influenced as a founder of craft’s movement in China. Joan is delighted to host a table for the Global Shapers & friends. The Global Shapers, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, is a worldwide network of young people driving dialogue, action and change. Joan is the outgoing curator of Beijing II hub, a member the global Advisory Council, and has been a Shaper since 2014. She looks forward to eating and drinking for social impact.
