HONG KONGERS TOGETHER IN AN EFFORT TO
WINE, DINE AND PARTY FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
Chi Fan for Charity (CFFC) is Hong Kong’s premiere charity dining event. Chi Fan for Charity’s innovative model takes the standard concept of a large gala charity dinner and throws it out the window!
Instead, CFFC invites some of Hong Kong’s best restaurants to prepare a special menu accompanied by a selection wines or cocktails that accompany the meal. Many of the tables are hosted by some of Hong Kong’s best known personalities, some by associations and others by groups of friends. Interested individuals can buy seats at these tables through the Chi Fan for Charity website. The per seat prices range from 750 HK to 1,200 HK, and tables seat between 10 to 12.
100% of the dinner proceeds will go towards the chosen beneficiary for this year – Child Welfare Scheme.
Child Welfare Scheme (CWS) was founded in Nepal in 1997 and in HK (Charity Registration Number 865654) in 2003 by Douglas Maclagan, who identified several core needs in Nepali children and mothers and fostered small projects to address those needs. The Hong Kong community has enabled CWS to carry out its mission over the past decade of providing protection, education, health care and opportunities to over 30,000 disadvantaged children and their families each year. CWS is a grassroots organization, working with children, communities and partners. From remote rural areas to urban centres the focus is on giving children back their rights and changing lives in a sustainable way. These projects include health care for women and children, vocational training and employment opportunities to disadvantaged young people, non formal education, banking, protection, legal support, food, clothes and shelter to street children, early years education to young children living in remote mountain villages and a large programme focusing on the prevention of girls and women being trafficked and the rehabilitation of those who have been rescued from trafficking.
