Ryan David Weidenmiller

is the Founder and Director of Acacia Capital Management, Inc.  Previously, he helped to build Susquehanna International Group’s (SIG) fundamental long/short equity group.  He also envisioned, founded, and built SIG's China venture capital and private equity business from 2004 to 2008 and served as a senior member of the investment committee.  Within only two years of operation, Mr.Weidenmiller built the China business into one of the most widely recognized venture capital and private equity businesses in China, with leading venture community associations, ranking SIG China venture capital at the #7 and #6 positions for the years 2006 and 2007, respectively.   Mr. Weidenmiller is personally responsible for the investments in China Finance Online (JRJC), Home Inns (HMIN), and E-House (EJ); Home Inns was awarded the distinction of "IPO of the Year" for 2006 by Zero2IPO.

 

During his creation and management of SIG China, Mr. Weidenmiller also worked as an investment advisor and managed a mostly market neutral long/short equity hedge fund from 2004-2008 for SIG, which started at $10 million and escalated to a $200 million fund in 2008.  He generated consistent and solid returns, outperforming peers and benchmarks each year.  Prior to his roles as Founder of SIG China, Mr. Weidenmiller worked as a hedge fund equity analyst at SIG from 2001 to 2004.

 

Prior to his role at SIG he worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Departments of Robertson Stephens and UBS/PaineWebber advising on deals valued over USD $4 billion.  Mr. Weidenmiller graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. degree in Economics from University of Pittsburgh.
