When M on the Bund opened in January 1999, the idea was to create a dining experience as exciting, as sophisticated, as delectable as Shanghai itself. Located at the pinnacle of the historic Nissin Shipping Building, built in 1921, M overlooks Shanghai’s most famous sight: the Bund.
Here, diners sample a creative menu in a warm, sophisticated space, where references to Shanghai’s glamorous past are updated and given a contemporary spin.
The roof terrace and stylish Crystal Room are also favourite spots to savour M’s “simply good food,” whose flavours range from the comforting to the novel, from Europe to the Middle East, but remain grounded in classical European techniques.

Cindy Jensen is the Founder of BOLDMOVES CHINA, a boutique consulting firm with a focus in Strategy Development, Executive Coaching and Leadership Development.
She is a seasoned executive spending her corporate years working with PepsiCo Foods as part of the senior leadership team working over a span of ten years in multiple functions including HR, Sales & Operations and Trade Marketing. Cindy works extensively throughout Asia Pacific working with leaders and their teams.
Cindy is a Canadian and has been living in China for over 15 years and reigns from Vancouver, Canada. She has her BComm from Dalhousie University, Halifax Canada and her Executive MBA from Rutgers University.
Cindy serves on the Board of Educating Girls in Rural China a charity that focuses on providing scholarship funding for continued education to women from rural China.
Cindy is also a Global Advisor for NSBI, an advisory member for Nova Scotian exporters to China.
